Description

Faber GL 88 Marble and Natural Stone Mastic

Faber GL 88 is a professional polyester resin mastic developed for bonding, filling, grouting and repairing marble, granite, travertine, agglomerated stone and other natural stone surfaces. Its high-performance formulation provides excellent mechanical strength, chemical resistance and a bright finish after hardening.

Available in solid, semi-solid consistencies, GL 88 can be selected according to the type of repair and the working position. It is suitable for a wide range of stone fabrication, installation and restoration tasks, including filling holes, repairing chips, joining slabs and grouting natural stone.

GL 88 is available in transparent, white, black and straw. It can also be customised using Faber Coloring Paste before the catalyst is added, allowing the mastic to be matched more accurately to the colour and pattern of the stone being repaired.

Benefits of Faber GL 88

Faber GL 88 provides a strong and dependable solution for professional stone bonding and repair work. Once mixed with the supplied catalyst, the polyester mastic hardens to form a durable repair with excellent resistance to mechanical stress and normal chemical exposure.

Its bright finish makes it particularly suitable for polished marble, granite and other decorative stone surfaces where the appearance of the completed repair is important. The range of available consistencies also allows installers and fabricators to select the most practical grade for horizontal, vertical or detailed repair work.

For more accurate colour matching, GL 88 can be tinted before catalysing using Faber Coloring Paste. This makes it possible to create custom shades for natural stone that may not match a standard mastic colour.

Faber GL 88 can be used for:

  • Bonding marble and natural stone
  • Joining stone slabs
  • Filling holes and surface imperfections
  • Repairing chips and damaged edges
  • Grouting natural stone tiles and slabs

  • Indoor stone repairs
  • Outdoor stone applications

Designed for use on:

  • Marble

  • Semi-solid: Suitable for general bonding, filling and repair applications

Colour Matching

If the colour of GL 88 needs to be adjusted, add Faber Coloring Paste before mixing in the catalyst. Work the colouring paste gradually into the uncatalysed mastic until a uniform shade is achieved.

Check the colour against an offcut or an inconspicuous area of the stone before adding the catalyst. Once the catalyst has been mixed into the mastic, the curing process begins and the available working time becomes limited.
