Product Overview
DECERA/P is a concentrated alkaline cleaner with action against organic and inorganic residues. It removes stubborn greasy dirt, waxes, resins, silicones and surface treatments, as well as cement-based filler and sealant residues from acid-sensitive materials such as marble and limestone.
It can be used for periodic degreasing, heavy-duty cleaning and wax stripping, with the dilution selected according to the material and the residues being removed. It is also used alongside DEC 21 solvent-based wax remover in a double wax stripping process.
Key Benefits
- Effective against stubborn greasy dirt and organic residues.
- Removes old waxes and surface treatments.
- Removes cement-based residues from surfaces sensitive to acidic products.
- Suitable for indoor and outdoor surfaces.
- Can be diluted for different cleaning tasks or used undiluted on absorbent materials where specified.
Suitable Surfaces
- Natural stone: marble, limestone, travertine, granite, slate, sandstone, quartzite, porphyry, tuff, Basaltina lava stone and molten basalt.
- Agglomerates and reconstituted stone: marble-concrete, marble-resin and marble-quartz agglomerates, and reconstituted stone (Eco stone).
- Concrete: concrete and concrete tiles.
- Ceramics and clay-based surfaces: glazed ceramics, craquelé ceramics, clinker, cotto and terracotta.
- Porcelain stoneware: lapped, polished, natural and textured finishes.
Always test on a small, unexposed area or an unused piece of material before treating the whole surface.
How to Use
Preparation
Remove dust, debris and coarse dirt with a broom or vacuum cleaner. Work in manageable sections according to the material’s absorption. On highly absorbent surfaces such as terracotta, treat no more than 4–5 m² at a time so the product does not penetrate completely into the surface.
Dilution
- Stubborn resin, wax or polymers, or the final stage of double wax stripping: dilute to 50%. On absorbent materials such as cotto or concrete, use undiluted.
- Strong degreasing, heavy residues or worksite cleaning on acid-sensitive materials: dilute to 20–30% in water, with the technical guidance specifying 1 part product to 2–4 parts water.
- Periodic floor degreasing: dilute to 10%, using 1 part product to 9 parts water.
Application and Rinsing
- Apply evenly over the area being cleaned and distribute vigorously with a single-disc machine or large brush.
- Leave to act for approximately 10–15 minutes, agitating at regular intervals to assist residue removal.
- On absorbent surfaces, add more product if needed to keep the area fully covered during treatment. Select the disc or brush according to the material.
- Add clean water to form an emulsion, distribute with the machine or brush, then collect the liquid and residues. A liquid vacuum cleaner is recommended; cloths or absorbent paper towels can also be used.
- Rinse thoroughly with clean water. Repeat the process if necessary.
- Wash application equipment with water after use.
Double Wax Stripping with DEC 21
Apply ready-to-use DEC 21 evenly with a single-disc machine or large brush. Leave it to act for approximately 10–15 minutes, agitating periodically and adding more if needed to maintain a fine layer over the surface.
Then apply DECERA/P over the same area: use undiluted on absorbent materials such as concrete or cotto, or diluted to 50% in water on non-absorbent materials such as porcelain stoneware and ceramics. Work it evenly across the surface and leave for a further 10–15 minutes, agitating periodically. Keep the surface covered throughout, then emulsify with clean water, collect the residues and rinse thoroughly.
Technical Information
- Coverage: 10–15 m² per litre.
- Application equipment: white pad, single-disc machine or hard floor cleaner.
Important Notes
- On recently laid or grouted surfaces, allow the adhesive or grout to cure completely before cleaning.
- Protect nearby surfaces that are not being treated.
- Do not mix with chemicals other than DEC 21
- Keep the original container tightly closed in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place away from direct sunlight and incompatible materials, including acids.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can DECERA/P remove cement-based residues from marble?
Yes. It is intended to remove cement-based filler and sealant residues from acid-sensitive surfaces, including marble and limestone. Test suitability on a small, unexposed area first and use the specified worksite-cleaning dilution.
When can the floor be used again after cleaning?
After thorough rinsing, the floor can be used as soon as it is dry. Before applying a subsequent surface treatment, wait until the material is completely dry throughout. This time varies with the material and its absorption.
What should I use for daily cleaning afterwards?
The technical guidance recommends NEUGEL or ALGAFLOOR for daily cleaning, selected according to the surface material.
