Professional Metal Bond Diamonds for Hard Concrete

Lavinasoft bond diamonds are designed specifically for grinding hard concrete with a Mohs hardness rating of 5–7. The soft Red bond is formulated to maintain efficient cutting performance on harder concrete while delivering controlled and consistent wear. This makes the tools suitable for floor preparation, coating removal and the initial stages of concrete polishing.

Available in a range of grits, these Lavina Quick Change diamond tools allow you to progressively refine the concrete surface before transitioning to ceramic, copper or resin bond tooling. Choosing the correct bond for the concrete hardness helps maximise cutting efficiency, reduce glazing and produce a more consistent scratch pattern throughout the grinding process.

The tools are available in Single Segment and Double Segment configurations. Single Segment tools provide a more aggressive cut and are generally recommended for lighter floor grinders under 30″. Double Segment tools are better suited to larger machines with a working width of 30″ and above, providing more balanced grinding performance and longer tool life.

Featuring the Lavina Quick Change fitting system, these diamond tools can be installed and changed quickly, helping to minimise downtime. If you are using a different manufacturer’s floor grinder, we can also supply conversion plates that allow Lavina Quick Change tooling to be used with many other professional grinding machines.

For the best results, match the bond to the concrete hardness and select the appropriate grit for the required level of aggregate exposure and desired finish. Where the concrete hardness is unknown, testing the floor before grinding can help ensure the correct bond is selected.

Tip: For a more accurate concrete hardness assessment, remove the surface laitance or top layer with a hand grinder before carrying out a Mohs hardness scratch test. Testing beneath the surface provides a more representative indication of the concrete’s true hardness and helps ensure the correct metal bond is selected.
