Professional Metal Bond Diamonds for Soft Concrete

Lavina Yellow Bond Metal Diamonds are designed specifically for grinding soft concrete with a Mohs hardness rating of 2–3. The hard Yellow bond is engineered to resist excessive wear on abrasive concrete while maintaining consistent cutting performance. This makes these diamond tools ideal for floor preparation, coating removal and the initial stages of concrete polishing.

Available in a range of grits, these Lavina Quick Change diamond tools enable contractors to progressively refine the concrete surface before transitioning to ceramic, copper or resin bond tooling. Selecting the correct bond for the concrete hardness helps improve cutting efficiency, minimise unnecessary tool wear and produce a consistent scratch pattern throughout the grinding process.

Choosing Single or Double Segment Tools

The tools are available in Single Segment and Double Segment configurations. Single Segment tools are generally recommended for floor grinders under 30″, while Double Segment tools are better suited to larger machines with a working width of 30″ and above, providing balanced grinding performance and extended tool life.

Lavina Quick Change System

Featuring the Lavina Quick Change fitting system, these diamond tools can be fitted and changed quickly, helping to minimise downtime on site. If you’re using a different manufacturer’s floor grinder, we can also supply conversion plates, allowing Lavina Quick Change tooling to be used with many other professional grinding machines.

Selecting the Correct Bond

For optimum results, always match the bond to the concrete hardness and select the appropriate grit for the level of aggregate exposure and required finish. If the concrete hardness is unknown, testing the floor before grinding will help ensure the correct metal bond is selected.

Tip: For a more accurate concrete hardness assessment, remove the surface laitance or top layer with a hand grinder before carrying out a Mohs hardness scratch test. Testing beneath the surface provides a more representative indication of the concrete’s true hardness and helps ensure the correct metal bond is selected.
