Product Overview
DISYCOTT is a highly concentrated, acid-based post-installation cleaner for removing cement-based grout residues, dirt and inorganic deposits, including salts, limescale and efflorescence. Its formula combines inhibited acids with specific cleaning agents for effective extraction of residues.
Suitable Surfaces
Suitable for indoor and outdoor use on the following materials, subject to a preliminary suitability test:
- Glazed ceramics, clinker and polished, natural or textured porcelain tiles.
- Cotto and terracotta.
- Quartz agglomerate and reconstituted stone (Eco stone).
- Slate, sandstone, Basaltina/lava stone, molten basalt, granite, porphyry, quartzite and tuff.
Do not use on acid-sensitive materials.
How to Use
Preparation
- Remove dust, debris and coarse dirt using a broom or vacuum cleaner.
- Test on a small, inconspicuous area or an unused piece of material before treating the whole surface.
- Work in small sections according to the material’s absorption. On highly absorbent surfaces such as terracotta, treat no more than 4–5 m² at a time to prevent the solution from being completely absorbed.
- Protect nearby surfaces that are not being treated.
Dilution
Dilute with clean water according to the surface and the residues to be removed:
- 1 part product to 2 parts water: for salts, efflorescence and stubborn post-installation residues on porous, absorbent materials such as cotto and terracotta.
- 1 part product to 4 parts water: for post-installation cleaning on low-absorbing materials such as porcelain tiles, or for slight inorganic residues.
Application and Rinsing
- Distribute the diluted solution evenly using a single-disc machine or large brush.
- Allow it to act for approximately 10–15 minutes, agitating occasionally to assist residue extraction. Absorbent materials may require additional solution to compensate for absorption.
- Select a pad or brush according to the material and soiling. Use a white pad for less dirty or more compact surfaces, such as glazed ceramics; use a green or light blue pad for rough, unpolished surfaces such as cotto and terracotta.
- After the action time, add sufficient clean water to form an emulsion with the cleaning solution. Distribute evenly with the machine or brush, then remove using a wet vacuum.
- Rinse the surface thoroughly with water. Wash application equipment with water after use.
Important Notes
- On recently laid or grouted surfaces, wait until the adhesive or grout has cured completely.
- Do not mix with other chemicals.
Technical Information
- Coverage: 10–15 m² per litre.
- Keep the original container tightly closed in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place, away from direct sunlight and incompatible materials.
Frequently Asked Questions
When can the floor be used after cleaning?
After thorough rinsing, the floor can be used as soon as it is dry. Before repeating the treatment, allow the material to dry completely throughout; the time required depends on the material and its absorption.
What should I use for routine cleaning afterwards?
The technical data sheet recommends NEUGEL or ALGAFLOOR for daily cleaning, selected according to the type of material.
